A Letter from the Founder
Dear Nicovape Family,
I want to express my sincerest gratitude for those of you who continually send through encouraging messages and support, and also for the constructive feedback on our pilot offering.
A large proportion of Australian smokers have been jealously witnessing other countries and unions amend their regulations to legalise the sale and use of reduced harm nicotine delivery products, whilst our current regulatory position is not forecasted to change within the next 12 - 36 months. Appallingly, this is despite the Australian smoking rate not declining in the previous 3 years in defiance of continually increasing tobacco control measures.
After founding this company 2 years ago, and assembling a unique, world class team of doctors, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals, I believe that the unique pressures smokers face in Australia, combined with the ease and low cost by which they will be able to obtain our products, will lead to the fastest and most wide spread uptake of reduced harm e-cigarettes in any country in history, and will help put an end to this senseless and avoidable epidemic caused by smoking.
I share the concerns of parents, regulators and the public health establishment about the potential gateway risk that e-cigarettes present of re-normalising smoking to a new generation of potential smokers, and also for the lack of definitive long-term health studies of this technology. I am also painfully mindful of the fact that two out three smokers will die prematurely from a smoking related illness. This means that someone’s mother, father, sibling or friend continues to die in Australia every 30 minutes, a statistic I refuse to live with!
I was determined to find a pragmatic solution which could save these millions of lives from unnecessarily premature and gruelling death, whilst eliminating the risks of enlisting a future generation to the same certain fate. I believe this revolutionary technology, if delivered in a responsible manner with due care to avoid future unintended consequences, has the potential to not only save literally millions of lives here in Australia, but billions globally; the largest breakthrough in public health in human history!
It is incredibly rewarding hearing, reading and watching the feedback brought to me by my team from customers who have managed to successfully give up cigarettes after 30/40 years of addiction. We feel a great sense of pride knowing that we have found a legal and pragmatic way to improve our customers health and quality of life, and have also helped them to escape the financial burdens of smoking.
Please continue to share your success stories with the team. I promise that we will continue to listen to your invaluable feedback, and will continue improving and developing our products to ensure we stay at the very forefront of this exciting industry, and most importantly, that I won’t rest until we have helped save 1 million Australian lives.
